About this tool
Resizing changes the number of pixels in an image. Downscaling uses high-quality multi-step resampling, so photos stay sharp instead of turning jagged. With Keep aspect ratio on, entering only a width calculates the height for you, and in batch mode each image keeps its own proportions.
If you need a specific shape, such as a square profile photo or a 16:9 banner, use the Crop or Social Media Resizer tools, which crop instead of stretching.
Frequently asked questions
Will resizing make my image blurry?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Enlarging beyond its original size can’t add detail, so it will look softer.
Can I resize several images to the same width?
Yes. Add them all, enter the width and leave height empty. Each image is scaled to that width with its own height.
Does resizing change the file format?
No, unless you choose a different format under “Save as”.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. ConvertBrightly processes files with JavaScript inside your browser. Nothing is sent over the network, and the files disappear when you close the tab. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
