About this tool
Opening a CSV directly in Excel can mangle data: leading zeros vanish from ZIP codes, long IDs turn into scientific notation, and UTF-8 accents break. Converting with the SheetJS engine keeps the text you see and lets you keep numeric-looking values as text when you need to.
Frequently asked questions
How do I keep leading zeros?
Turn on “Keep values as text”. Every cell is stored as text, exactly as it appears in the CSV.
Which delimiters are supported?
Comma, semicolon, tab and pipe. Auto-detect checks the first lines.
Can I combine several CSVs?
Yes. Turn on “Combine into one workbook” and each CSV becomes a sheet.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. ConvertBrightly processes files with JavaScript inside your browser. Nothing is sent over the network, and the files disappear when you close the tab. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
